KASIA ROKICKA IS A VOCALIST AND A SONGWRITER BLENDING JAZZ, WORLD MUSIC AND POP IN A BOWL OF GENTLE, HARMONIOUS SOUNDS AND INSPIRING LYRICS. Born in Warsaw, Rokicka is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston. Having explored the jazz scene in her homeland, Kasia moved to the United States, where she blossomed not only as a vocalist but also as a songwriter, arranger and producer. She polished her composition skills and the search of her own voice helped her to develop a delicate timbre and a unique style of writing. In 2009 she returned to her homeland and since then she’s been singing in Poland, Denmark and the US, performing in jazz clubs with Rafał Rokicki and Polish jazz musicians. She sung at the Jazz Forum Jazz Festival "Ci Na Ktorych Liczymy" in Tygmont in Warsaw as well as was a finalist of a Krokus Jazz Festival competition in Jelenia Gora. Her songs has been broadcasted on the national radios in Poland and presented by Polish music authorities such as Jan Ptaszyn Wroblewski and Paweł Brodowski. Moreover, her song "Dobre Dobranoc" has represented Poland on the 53rd Zeccino D'Oro festival in Italy (the Italian title: Un Sogno Nel Cielo), “Świat pełen Bajek” won III prize in the nternational Children's Dance and Song Festival in Konin while "Flying In Dreams", "Letting Go" and "Five For You" reached to the top in the international song competitions. Her album "Violet River" features nine of her original compositions. With Kazuyo Kuriya on flute, Rafał Rokicki on piano, Zak Croxall on bass and Thomas Hartman on drums she painted romantic landscapes and created unique atmosphere characteristic to her style. Curently, Rokicka is working on another album “Songs of Inner Peace” as well as sings for children in a project “Strefa Dzieci”.
