Description

Okdal is a female pop band in Korea. After their first EP was released in 2010, they released two regular albums, many singles and Eps for last 5 years. OKDAL has received huge love by public and grew to representative female duo in Korea even though they’re the indie band & Korean indie music scene is still not grownup enough.
They let us listen their bright and delight songs based on acoustic sound, and especially, their music has a strong point that anyone can come close easily by letting us listen natural lyrics and friendly and mature songs. They've presented tender and soft songs and also bright and delighted songs based on sentimental vibe of the folk-pop, and they usually convey the warm of everyday life and positive expectation and appreciation with stories that anyone can experience and determine, not the private sentimental or the inner thought.
this single album is the newest official release since the second album (2013). this single talks about our present strange society by OKDAL's point of view by their unique informal and hard hitting grammar style lyrics. It seemed like a vivid look into someone's diary. Unusual thing of this album is they also recorded narration version of each tracks to deliver aclear message. Yoo Seungho(actor) and Jung Eunchae(actress), these two famous Korean actor and actress are featuring for the narration in this unique record.
the title song‘The Strange Times'was motivated by a famous Korean Novel'The Dwarf‘.this lyrics represent many people live in harsh times with close eyes, ears, mouth and even without enough time to love & ironically OKDAL expresses this heavy subject with very bright and cheerful melody. this subtle Irony feels like some sort of'black comedy'. But OKDAL who is cure icon does not forget to leave some room for hope.
‘Wanna Disappear' is a sad ballad song which talk about anxiety of youth people who’s living in hardcore lifetime by Self-confessional speech. Anyone can suddenly think about escapism worry at anymoment like 'If I'm gone'or' If I was not born'. Nevertheless, they keep still living. This song expresses this inner sorrowful youth living by lyrical piano melody and their vocal harmony.
OKDAL's music always reflects joy and sorrow of the life.
Many people find consolation, healing, and hope to get a life from their music.
This is the true power of OKDAL's music.

매직스트로베리사운드

OKDAL is the witty female-duo that is famous to the public their song "Oksangdalbit" by being had on MBC drama 'Pasta' OST. They let us listen their bright and delight songs based on acoustic sound, and especially, their music has a strong point that anyone can come close easily by letting us listen natural lyrics and friendly and mature songs. Also, the audiences who have ever seen OKDAL's live just like the funny talk show are fascinated with their music easily. That's the reason why OKDAL can let the public know their music through TV, radio, and many festivals, and they have become the team that a lot of people love. OKDAL's first full length album released in 2011 was also connected the context of their music contained on their first EP again. The album that had twelve songs at total shows their tender and soft songs and bright and delighted songs based on sentimental of the folk-pop, and in their music there are few common stories about the love and farewell, and they usually convey the warm of everyday life and positive expectation and appreciation through their short lyrics. Of course, in their EP sometimes has the song like [Dear Hardcore Life], but they usually have sung the stories that anyone can experience and determine, not the private sentimental or the inner thought. OKDAL express the common stories in language of the daily life, and also they had made the songs like the chat instead of the deep and inner sentimental that most indie songs have by singing in the neat and bright tone. In their first album, it is [Having Nothing Is My Merit] that shows this trend most. Actually, even if it could not show enough the reality of in one's 20's suffering from the expensive money for the college and the high rate of the employment, we could say their most positive point is that they try to change the not-have and poor reality into the advantage point. Like this, briefly speaking, it might be the very "OKDAL trying to offer words of consolation". The messages they tell us might be able to consolate our wounds.
